1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of LJ Engraving's music transcription services. By using our services, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

2. Service Description

LJ Engraving provides professional music transcription services, converting audio into accurate and high-quality written notation. While clear recordings qualify for standard rates, we also accept faulty or compromised recordings. However, if poor audio quality significantly increases transcription time, a pricing adjustment will apply to reflect the additional effort required.
Additionally, any modifications to the original request or special requests beyond standard transcription may incur extra charges.

3. Pricing Transparency

LJ Engraving ensures 100% transparency in pricing. The quoted price is final unless the client requests significant additional work beyond the agreed scope. Any extra charges will be communicated and approved before work begins.

4. Payment Terms

• Deposit: A 50% deposit is required before work begins, with the remainder due upon completion.

• Deposit Refund: Clients may cancel within 24 hours for a full refund, provided that transcription work has not yet started.

• Full Payment: The remaining balance must be paid before the final transcription is delivered.

• Payment Method: All payments are processed through PayPal, offering Buyer Protection for added security.

5. Ownership of Transcriptions

• For original compositions provided by the client, full ownership of the transcription is transferred upon receipt of full payment. Clients may use, distribute, or modify the transcription as they wish.

• For transcriptions of copyrighted music, the client is responsible for ensuring their use complies with copyright laws. LJ Engraving provides transcription as a service, but it does not grant or imply any rights to reproduce, distribute, or publicly perform copyrighted material. Clients must obtain the necessary permissions or licenses if required.

6. Confidentiality & Privacy

LJ Engraving takes privacy seriously and ensures that all project files are stored on a highly secured computer with up-to-date antivirus protection. Once the finalized transcription is submitted, we will delete all project files unless instructed otherwise by the client. Some clients prefer that we retain their files for future modifications, such as revisions or arrangements for different instrumentations, and we are happy to accommodate such requests upon instruction.
For all transcriptions, we provide Sib, XML, MIDI, and PDF files, ensuring that clients have full access to their project on their own devices. If you choose to credit us, we appreciate the recognition.

7. Portfolio & Project Showcasing

By default, all projects remain private. If you'd like your transcription to be featured in our portfolio, you may opt in.

8. Revisions

Clients may request reasonable revisions within 5 days of delivery, as long as they align with the original request. Minor changes, such as font adjustments or small formatting tweaks, are included. However, requests requiring substantial changes to the initial instructions or involving new elements (e.g., additional instruments or significant rework) may incur additional charges.

9. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

• Providing the best possible quality recording, as clearer audio improves accuracy and may lower costs.

• Clearly communicating any specific instructions or preferences.

• Making timely payments as agreed.

10. Cancellation & Refund Policy

• Cancellation: If no work has been done, the deposit is refundable. If work has started but is incomplete, a partial refund may be considered at our discretion.

• Refunds: No refunds are provided for completed transcriptions. However, we are happy to make reasonable revisions to ensure satisfaction.

11. Long-Term Client Perks

Clients who have used LJ Engraving’s services 10+ times qualify for the following benefits:

• No Deposit Required – Eligible clients are permanently exempt from deposit requirements.

• Priority Scheduling – Early access to limited-availability slots for urgent projects.

• Flexible Payment Arrangements – Clients with 20+ orders may request slight flexibility in payment deadlines for large projects.

12. Limitation of Liability

While we strive for the highest level of accuracy, we are not responsible for unintended errors or omissions. We are also not liable for any use or misuse of the transcriptions once delivered.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. However, if the client is based outside the UK, local laws may also apply. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in accordance with applicable international contract laws, and we will make reasonable efforts to settle disputes amicably before pursuing legal action.

14. Changes to Terms & Conditions

LJ Engraving reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of any significant changes via email or our website. By continuing to use our services, you agree to the revised terms.
